About

Hi there! I’m Grace, and among other things, I’m a part-time artist. I live in the beautiful beachside suburb of Sumner, Christchurch, with my husband, Tim.

I grew up in Wellington, New Zealand, and from an early age I loved making and creating. It wasn’t until we moved to Hanmer Springs with our young family, however, that I discovered a passion for painting. Inspired by the incredible natural beauty around me, I began painting primarily in acrylics, enjoying still life and landscape subjects. During that time, I opened a small gallery and cafĂ© as part of a tourism venture, which gave me the opportunity to exhibit and sell my work.

In 2011, we moved to Sumner so our three sons could continue their studies in Christchurch. Over the next 12 years, I focused on a rewarding full-time career, but it left little room for creativity.

Now that I’ve stepped away from full-time work, I’m happy to be painting again. My artistic journey continues to evolve, and I’m currently exploring contemporary portraiture in oils. I love capturing the beauty, individuality, and quiet stories that make each person unique, creating paintings that celebrate both character and connection.
