About

Hi there! Amongst other things, I’m a part-time artist. I live in the beautiful beach suburb of Sumner, Christchurch with my husband Tim.

Growing up in Wellington, New Zealand, I was always passionate about creating and making. It was not until I shifted to Hanmer Springs with a young family, that I was inspired by the natural beauty that surrounded me, that I started painting, working predominately in acrylics. I enjoyed still life and landscapes. I opened a small gallery and cafe as part of a tourism venture, which enabled me to sell my work.

We shifted to Sumner in Christchurch in 2011 to allow our three sons to study, and for the following 12 years was focused on a fulfilling career, but was sadly far removed from any creativity. Having now stopped working fulltime, I have more time to spend on a creative practice. This is continuing to evolve, but currently I am exploring contemporary portraits in oil, seeking to capture the beauty and uniqueness of each person painted.
